Kenneth Roberts is Hastings born and bred and went on to study at York where he gained BA and MA degrees in music. He is also Musical Director for First Act Opera, Opera South East and the Sussex Concert Orchestra. Ken is an internationally known musician and conductor having played and conducted at many prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall and the Festival Hall. His Harpsichord Concerto has recently been premiered and recorded.
During the last three years he has spent time in the USA writing and directing musicals for children and fulfilling a commission to mark the centenary of the birth of Sir William Walton. He recently completed a commission to write a ballet based on the novel "The Trumpet Major" by Thomas Hardy.
Robert has performed extensively all over Europe, the USA and the Far East. He recently recorded Bach’s six Brandenburg Concertos with the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra on a much acclaimed CD. He has made various solo harpsichord CDs including recent recordings of Haydn and Mozart Keyboard Sonatas and a very successful recital of famous Bach works. Robert is a much sought-after vocal coach and he works with many young singers at the Centre for Performing Arts in Hong Kong, the Royal Academy of Music and Trinity College of Music.
Robert is a harpsichordist of international reputation and has played in most of the prestigious halls worldwide. He is also a sought after vocal coach and has worked with many young singers at the Royal Academy of Music and at Trinity College of Music. Robert is Organist and Choirmaster at St. Mark’s Church and accompanist to Bexhill Choral Society.
