Who is Bexhill Choral Society?

We are a friendly, enthusiastic, non-audition choir with more than 60 members in Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex. Under our Director of Music, Kenneth Roberts, we perform three concerts during the year, featuring a wide range of choral music - from Baroque to the Beatles!  Two concerts have orchestral accompaniment, while our popular Carols & Christmas Music concert is accompanied by piano/organ and a brass ensemble.  We rehearse once a week on Wednesday evenings from September to July (with a few weeks' break for Christmas/New Year), and on the afternoon of each concert. Our Director of Music is renowned local musician, composer and conductor Kenneth Roberts, with well-known pianist and organist Nigel Howard as rehearsal accompanist.  As well as concerts we have some social events, and people generally find us a friendly lot!

We warmly welcome new members who enjoy singing, with a range of musical knowledge and experience, although some ability to follow written music will be helpful.  There is increasing evidence that singing in a choir brings real health, emotional and social benefits as well as enjoyment, so why not give it a try?  If you'd like to find out if Bexhill Choral Society is for you, we would be happy to welcome you to rehearsals for a couple of weeks without charge.  If you'd like to do this, please email membership@bexhillchoral.org.uk or come to a rehearsal, and we will be delighted to welcome you.
