7.30 Saturday 13th June 2026 Little Common Community Centre, Bexhill TN39 4SQ.
Bexhill Choral Society presents a recital by Bexhill Choral Society’s Music Director, pianist Kenneth Roberts - ‘What makes French music French?’
What is it that gives French music that peculiar ‘Frenchness’, that elusive, sensual quality which pervades so much of French culture and lifestyle? The question is considered via a light-hearted journey through the piano music of Debussy, Satie, Ravel, Fauré, and Poulenc.
Kenneth’s recitals on a range of musical subjects, showcasing his skills as a raconteur as well as a pianist, have been a popular event in the Bexhill Festival of Music for many years.
Tickets £12 from choir members; Second Spin in Sackville Rd, Bexhill TN39 3JL (cash); ticketsource.co.uk/bcs or 0333 666 3366; on the door (but booking is recommended as this is a very popular event).
In association with the Bexhill Festival of Music.

With plenty of time before our next concert, now would be a good time to join the choir, if you’re thinking of giving choral music a go, or know anyone else who might be interested! There is increasing evidence that singing in a choir brings real health and social benefits as well as enjoyment.
We rehearse on Wednesday evenings 6.45-8.45 p.m., at Little Common Community Centre, Shepherd’s Close, Bexhill TN39 4SQ, and invite people to come along free of charge for a few weeks to see how they get on.
It’s helpful if you have some ability to follow written music, but we welcome singers with a range of musical knowledge and experience, and we don’t have auditions.
